The Public Relations Association of Western North Carolina, or PRAWNC, is the region’s premier professional organization for public relations, marketing, advertising and communications professionals since 1983.

PRAWNC is an organization dedicated to the professional development of Public Relations and Communications professionals. PRAWNC members meet monthly at luncheons or after-hours events in the Asheville and surrounding areas for informative presentations on current topics in the public relations profession.

Jan. 15, 2010 Submission Deadline for the Local ADDY Awards

This year the AAF Asheville is proud to announce Asheville’s first opportunity to fully participate into the nationally recognized ADDY Awards.

What are the ADDY Awards?

Be a part of something huge. The best of the best. The ADDY® Awards are the world’s largest advertising competition, awarding creative excellence for more than 40 years. It’s a true honor to receive an award, regardless of the level. Each year some 60,000 entries are received. This competition recognizes advertising from all types of media, creative sizes, and entrants from anywhere in the world. It’s the only creative award program administered by the ad industry for the ad industry.

These entries begin at the local level; AAF Asheville will host its first competition in January 2010. Gold ADDY Award winners from our competition will proceed to District level; winners there go to national competition. There are both professional and student entries. This is our chance to shine; don’t miss this competition.

The ADDY Award committee needs you! Join the AAFA and create Asheville’s ADDY competition and party. Planning has already started and will continue over the summer and fall. Many, many volunteers are needed during January and February, when the annual competition and awards ceremony take place.

Important Dates to Remember:

Call For Entries: Friday, January 15 , 2010, noon to 7 pm., BP Solutions, 24 Wilmington Street, Asheville, NC 28806. All entries due at BP Solutions no later than 7 pm. Call 888 252-4476 for directions.

Judging: Friday, January 29 , 2010, with judging by three out-of-area ad pros.
